Back in early February a large group of us gals had a reservation for a wedding shower dinner. There were a dozen or so of us and as we arrived, we needed to change something about our reservation that caused a bit of complication for the Number 13 team. However, J'La and Jenn were amazing in accommodating our group and keeping the evening special for the bride to be! Big appreciation to both of those ladies from all of us!!
Number 13 has something for everyone. It's an upscale restaurant and suitable for fine dining parties. However what makes it so special is its versatility...... the outside terrace is perfect for drinks and appetizers, or go sit at the bar inside and enjoy a finely prepared cocktail and dinner. The fried quail and pickles are amazing, the steaks and seafood are excellent as well. The service is always top notch.... Friendly and attentive staff!
Everything about this place is just spectacular. The ambience is inviting, upscale, and smells delicious. The staff was super friendly, from the greeter, to the Sommelier, to our server. All great. The menu is so freaking mouthwatering, good luck narrowing it down to one thing. I cannot say enough good things about the Seafood Pasta. It was beyond delicious.
Garrett T was our server and was great. We went for Sunday Brunch and had prime rib and Eggs. We had 2 butter rolls brought out prior to our food and they are amazing. Crunchy on the outside and soft as butter on the inside. The Ribeye and eggs were cooked and seasoned perfectly along with several asparagus spears. This was our first experience at Number 13 prime steak and seafood, we'll be back.
What can I say, all was fabulous. Food service and ambience. Best oysters Rockefeller I have ever had. For Lunch,I love the Cuban sandwich but be prepared that it will feed two.
Excellent spot for a fancy and romantic meal. Delicious wine selection, with one of my favorite Argentinian Malbecs available. The food itself is brought out timely, and everything we ate was presented by a very attentive staff. Will be coming back every year for our anniversary to see Christy, she was our favorite!
I always considered the number 13 to be lucky and after dining at Number 13, I have one more reason. Too often, I've gone to a steakhouse where they charge exorbitant fees in the promise of an exceptional experience, only to find the execution to be lacking. Number 13 did quite the opposite. I wasn't sure what to expect from the humble location tucked away from the road. As I walked up to the door I noticed a lot of outdoor seating overlooking the marina but I opted to sit inside. The inside of the restaurant is very clean and spacious with an elegance I did not expect. After being seated, water was brought to the table. Our waitress Irina G. was exceptional. Throughout the entire meal, she answered questions, made recommendations and anticipated our needs at the table. I don't know if you can request a waitress when you go but I would definitely recommend her. She did an outstanding job. I ordered a New Fashioned to drink. Woodford Reserve Bourbon, Amaro and Warm Spiced Apple Liqueur over a fat piece of ice combined for a strong but smooth drink with hints of fruit and caramel. I also had a Paloma which was also very good with a strong flavor underneath the grapefruit. The food was amazing. Before I go into the main course, I have to talk about the bread. I don't know who the baker is but give that person an award! I could have sat there and ate that bread and butter all day. The bread came out fresh, hot and still steaming. Don't leave without trying it. It's addictive. The Tropical Salad was a mix of baby bibb and arugula with chopped greens, oranges, roasted almonds, strawberries, goat cheese, and honey mango. Tossed in a champagne vinaigrette it was refreshing and delicious. The main course was a 28 oz. 30 Day Cowboy Ribeye. At $113 it was worth it. The steak was tender, juicy and full of flavor. The size was also more than enough for two people. The sides were all delicious and perfectly complimented the steak. The Brussels Sprouts with pork belly bacon and golden raisins was incredible. The Sautéed Asparagus Béarnaise was exceptional and the Yukon Gold Whipped Potatoes could not have been better. On the recommendation from Irina, for dessert the Warm Butter Cake really hit this meal out of the ball park! What a wonderful recommendation! Classic warm butter cake with a berry chutney and tres leches reduction. Topped with Madagascar vanilla bean and mixed berry gelato. Finished with roasted pecans this was a stairway to warm butter heaven. I can't say enough about the excellent food and the impeccable service. I would recommend this steakhouse to anyone for a fine dining experience without all the pretentious spectacle but still elegantly presented. If you live in Houston, it is worth the drive to Galveston for a weekend getaway meal that will leave you feeling satisfied.
We came to Galveston for vacation and I was looking for a place to celebrate my wife's 50th birthday. I found this place on Yelp reviews and for our own experience it did not disappoint. We arrived and were seated by a window with a nice view of the harbor. We were handed warm towels to wash our hands! Then we were served a delicious bread with butter! My wife ordered the caviar mango tuna dish and I ordered a 14oz NY strip steak. Both dishes were delicious. After we were done with our main course they brought out the chocolate gelato and birthday candle for my wife's birthday. We finished off our dinner with a chocolate cake and gelato. Overall the ambiance, service, meal and dessert were excellent! If we ever come back to Galveston we will definitely try and come back to Number 13 again!
I do not give 5 reviews...if I did Number 13 would receive 5's. Front of the house manager Maja greeted us and seated us immediately. Our waitress Vira was absolutely fantastic she was assisted by Darko. Both were well informed as to what was available and the proper preparation of the steaks that we ordered. The food here is excellent, we chose the 12oz bone in fillet with sides of Brussel sprouts and saluted mushrooms. Kudos to the chef and kitchen staff for exceeding expectations. We drove in from Houston, this meal was better than Taste of Texas by far. This restaurant has it all, service, food and atmosphere. It is worth the drive.
